Test how easily tracking starts and recovers after occlusion, motion or loss of visibility.
Compare alignment and jitter using the same objects, devices, lighting and camera movements. Check how often each engine loses tracking.
Confirm camera interfaces, platform constraints, tuning options and the engineering support you need.
Check licensing, distribution rights, support scope and ongoing maintenance for your planned deployment.
Compare the full process of preparing a target and integrating tracking into your app. Start with the requirement that your current setup cannot meet, then evaluate the same target, device and task across the shortlist.
| Decision | Check with every candidate | Discuss with Holoceive SDK |
|---|---|---|
| Target workflow | Test one representative print or object from preparation through tracking. | Discuss target preparation and tuning for the specific object or printed surface. |
| Camera integration | Check camera ownership, frame timestamps and coexistence with your current AR stack. | Define native frame input and application coordinates with the engine team. |
| Tracking quality | Measure initialization, alignment, loss and recovery on the same devices. | Agree on acceptance criteria around the intended user task. |
| Delivery and cost | Request a quote covering distribution, target tools, updates and engineering support. | Scope evaluation, custom work, delivery and ongoing support in the project proposal. |
Map your image or model targets, tracking callbacks, camera setup and content coordinates before changing the engine. Vuforia documents distinct Image Target and Model Target workflows; preserve the behavior your application needs rather than expecting identical APIs. Bring one representative scene and the specific reason for switching to the first discussion.

Holoceive SDK is a candidate when your project needs image or 3D object tracking together with changes to the camera interface, target behavior or application integration. Work with the team developing the native engine to define those changes. Compare the cost of keeping your existing SDK against the engineering, testing and maintenance involved in switching.
Review scene content separately from tracking code. Models, animations and interface assets may be reusable, while camera ownership, target preparation, callbacks and pose handling need an integration review. Do not assume a Vuforia target database or prefab can be imported unchanged into another engine. Begin with a small scene and an agreed test before changing the production app.

Unity object tracking: target data, coordinates and scene integration ↗
Start by listing the EasyAR features your app actually uses. Check target loading, runtime camera access, Unity integration and deployment terms against that list. When discussing Holoceive SDK, separate the image or object tracking requirement from any additional spatial or cloud services your application depends on.
For a model-based object tracking project, compare the preparation workflow as well as runtime alignment. Use the same physical object, model revision, viewpoints and occlusion sequence. Include any moving parts and the intended task, such as inspection or assembly, in the acceptance test.

The evaluation should produce a target and device test plan, an integration design and a clear outline of development and maintenance responsibilities. Identify target data that must be prepared again and keep your existing implementation available until the replacement meets the agreed criteria.
No. Describe what you want to track, the intended interaction and the platform. A photo, CAD model or sample project helps when available; the first discussion can establish what needs to be prepared.
